Joe L. Tatum, 44, of 3 South Koopman, Phillips, died suddenly at Tulin, Mo. where he was visiting a brother, Thursday evening. He was a maintenance foreman for Phillips Petroleum Co. and had been employed by Phillips for 26 years.

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Mary Ann Tatum, a son, Jerry A. Tatum of Phillips; a daughter, Mrs. J.H. Matthews of Bunavista, his mother, Mrs. Margaret Belle Austin of Okla. City and Clyde Lasswell of Fagus, Mo., and three grandchildren.

The body is being returned to Borger by Air Ambulance and will rest at Ed Brown's Chapel of the Fountains until 3 p.m. Monday when funeral services will be observed at the First Baptist Church of Phillips with the pastor, the Rev. Hoyt Welck officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown, funeral director.
