Funeral services for John A. Taylor, 59, of 506 Farmer, Stinnett, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Church of Christ in Stinnett, with J.R. Chism, Childress, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Simpsons Funeral Home.

Taylor died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in North Plains Hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1916 in Quanah. He has been an area resident for 25 years coming here from Lakeview.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Stinnett.

Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Michael.

Survivors include three sons, Emmett of Dallas, Mike and Jody both of Stinnett; three daughters, Mrs. Betty McLoud of Stinnett, Mrs. Janice Scroggins of Canadian, and Mrs. Vonzell Barbour of Duncan, Okla.; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Taylor of Quanah; also, two brothers, Burl of Petaluma, Calif., and John E. of Quanah; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Street of Childress, Mrs. Thelma Curlee of Fort Worth, Miss Eunice Taylor of Quanah, and Mrs. Leona Brown of San Francisco, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jack Whaley, Paul Tinsley, Lester Watts, Orvel Malone, Clarence McGehee, Jack Sturdevant, and Darrell McLoud.
