Elie John Chauvin was born in Louisiana in 1872.
He married Jessamine May Young in 1897 in Louisiana. They are the parents of Alton Bernard Chauvin, Emmie Chauvin, Duvald Chauvin, Rodney Paul Chauvin and Doris Lee Chauvin.
Mr. Chauvin died in 1951 in Houston, Harris County, Texas at the age of 78. He preceded his wife and children in death.
