Henry Hershner was born on January 10, 1839 to Jacob Hershner and Mary Ann Hammer in Richland County, Ohio.
Henry is the husband of Caroline Amelia Tawney. They married in Williams County, Ohio in 1858. From this union they had the following children:
- John Adam Hershner; born in 1859
- Mary Anna Hershner Parker; born in 1860
- Harriett Elizabeth "Hattie" Hershner Mitchell; born in 1862
- Abbie Jane Hershner; born in 1867
- Robert Edwin Hershner; born in 1877
- William Henry Hershner; born in 1870
- Cora A. Hershner; born in 1872
- Andrew Garfield Hershner; born in 1880
- Ida Viola Hershner; born in 1896
Mr. Hershner died on September 12, 1914 at the age of 75 in Canon City, Freemont County, Colorado. He was buried in Angleton, Brazoria County, Texas on September 16, 1914. His wife Caroline died in Stella, Nebraska on March 20, 1916. She was buried next to her husband.
