Funeral services for L.C. Umphfres, 57, long time Phillips resident who recently retired and moved to Bentonville, Arkansas will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday at the First Methodist Church at Phillips. The pastor, Rev. Gene Garrison will officiate.

Umphfres died around noon Tuesday at Gravette, Arkansas following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Umphfres; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Ruth Burch of Murphy, N.C., and Mrs. Marcella Parrot of Ada, Oklahoma; and a son Paul of Cactus.

Honorary pallbearers are Wallace Brooks, Don Irwin, John Norman, Lent Brown and Ray Hatley. Selection of active pallbearers is pending.

Burial is scheduled at the Highland Park Cemetery.
