Funeral services for James O'Dell Van Loon, 58, of 809 O'Daniel, were at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Thrasher, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Alexander-Simpson Funeral Directors.

Mr. Van Loon died at 2 a.m. Sunday in Veterans Hospital of Amarillo. He was a member of the 369th Infantry Battalion in World War II, a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Born Nov. 11, 1920 in Gerty, Okla., he came to Borger from Rotan in 1947. He was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his mother, two brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, who died in 1972.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
