Funeral services were held Monday, August 1, at 4 p.m., in the First Baptist Church for Paula Jean Weddington, 11-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Weddington, 922 Jackson, Borger, who died at 7:35 Saturday morning, July 30, in the West Texas Polio Center at Plainview.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Paul Cullen. Interment was in Highland Park cemetery under the direction of the Minton Funeral Home. Casket bearers were members of the Junior Adult Sunday School department of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors other than her parents include two sisters, Athene June Weddington and Patsy Sue Weddington, both of Borger; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Weddington of Borger, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Brewer of Lefors, Texas.

Paula Jean was admitted to the Polio Center July 14, and put in an iron lung. Her condition was described as "very bad." Four days later she appeared to be improving. Her case was diagnosed as bulbar.
