Evelyn A. Clawson, 97, of Gatesville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born in The Grove, Texas, to the late Nathan Beacher and Edith Brazzil Adams. She was raised in The Grove and on November 16, 1935, she married Burris Clawson in The Grove, where they resided until 1957. They moved to Temple, residing there until 2009. Evelyn was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burris Clawson; and a daughter, Donna Davis.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Watts and husband, Donald, of Owl Creek; son-in-law, Jack Davis; grandchildren, Jackie Watts and wife, Schree, and David Watts and wife, Brenda, all of Gatesville; great-grandchildren, Mandy Dudik and husband, Jeff, of Owl Creek, Scotty Watts and wife, Amy, of Glen Rose, and Angela Anderson and husband, Moe; and great-great-granchildren, Kari, Jessy Ann, Dylan, Angel, and Ashley; other relatives and many friends.
