Funeral services for J. D. Winn, 10-years-old, who was killed Thursday afternoon while playing in the North Main Wrecking Company yards were held Friday afternoon at the Carver-Powell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L. O. Byerly, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
Pallbearers were Harlan Baird, Curtis Hillman, Robert Kelly, Lloyd Gasko, Harry Ward, and Billy Neal. Flower girls were Mary Jean Tweedy, Alta Lee Tweedy, Juanita Sickels, Billie Eva McGee, Martha Marie Smith, and Billie Ruth Hillman.
In addition to members of the immediate family, his father, R. M. Winn, and a half sister, Ada Pauline, J. D. is survived by the following aunts and uncles; Mr. and Mrs. Lon English, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Shanks and Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Button.
J.D.'s mother died several years ago.
Relatives of the youth wish to express thanks to the many people who sent flowers and expressed their condolences in other ways.
