WHEELER — Jimmy Wales Adams, 69, of Wheeler died Monday, June 20, 2016.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wheeler School Gym with Pastor Ruby Moultrie, Dale West and the Rev. Matthew Gary officiating. Burial will follow in Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home of Wheeler.
Jimmy Wales Adams was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Wheeler County to Carroll Porter Adams and Roberta Wales Adams. He was a 1965 graduate of Wheeler High School. He received a bachelor’s and masters degree in criminal justice from West Texas A&M University. Mr. Adams married Marie Holloway Adams Nov. 10, 1967. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2008.
Jimmy was an MP during his service in the Army. He was a member of United Methodist Church. Jimmy was a member of High Plains Police Chief’s Association, Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management of Texas, Sheriff’s Association of Texas, NRA, Lion’s Club International and Texas Panhandle Peace Officer’s Association, and served as scout master for the Boy Scouts of America in Wheeler. After a long and distinguished career in law enforcement, Jimmy retired as Borger’s chief of police in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Bobbye Carol Hill.
Survivors include a son, Jason Adams and wife Sheena Embry of Abernathy; two daughters, Stacy Adams Mansoor and husband Samuel and Stephanie Adams Garfias and husband Antonio, all of Round Rock; five grandchildren, Mason Adams Mansoor, Victoria Grace Mansoor, Carson Adams Mansoor, Milo Antonio Garfias and Simon Mateo Garfias; and his special friend, Jan Haynes.
The family suggests memorials be to Relay For Life - Hutchinson County, 3915 S. Bell St. Amarillo, TX 79109; or Peace Officers Memorial Foundation at www.pomf.org.

WHEELER - Myrtle Marie Holloway Adams, 60, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, in Borger.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Richardson, pastor of Trinity Church in McLean, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adams was born May 12, 1947, in the family home in McLean to Myrtle May Trout Holloway and Pascal Ota "Buddy" Holloway.
She married Jimmy Wales Adams on Nov. 10, 1967, in Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her father, P.O. "Buddy" Holloway, and mother, Myrtle May Trout Holloway; a sister, Deborah Ann Holloway Acuna of McLean; and a half brother, James Simon Holloway of Montana.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Wales Adams; three children, Stacy Diane Adams Mansoor and husband Samuel Adams Mansoor of Round Rock, Stephanie Dawn Adams Garfias and husband Antonio Garfias Jr. of Henderson, Nev., and Jason Wynn Adams and wife Sheena Leigh Embrey of Abernathy; five grandchildren, Mason Adams Mansoor, Victoria Grace Mansoor, Carson Adams Mansoor, Milo Antonio Garfias and Simon Mateo Garfias; a brother, James Otis Holloway and wife Pam of Moore, Okla., and their children; brothers-in-law, Antonio "Tony" Acuna of McLean and Michael Acuna and wife Tonya of Borger and children Joshua Brent Acuna of Amarillo and Kaitlin Brianna Jade "Kate" Acuna of McLean; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Bobbye Adams Hill of Wheeler; seven half brothers and sisters, Cecil and Martha Cooper of Fort Smith, Ark., Effie Payne of McLean, Mary Lou Richardson and husband Roy, Jessie Clay Cooper and Fay Crutcher, all of McLean, Bill Holloway of Oregon and Jackie of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family suggests memorials be to Cancer Center Research of Colon/Liver Cancer.
