Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Alice Ayres, 81, who passes away in Shamrock General Hospital July 3, 1965 at 4:10 p.m. after a lengthy illness, were held in Wheeler Monday, July 5, 1965.
Mrs. Ayers [sic] was born in Kansas July 9, 1883 to John D. Donica and Mxary [sic] Wisley Dinica [sic]. She was married to Joseph J. Ayers [sic] on April 6, 1902 in Condell [sic], Okla.
Mrs. Ayers [sic] and her husband lived in Oklahoma until 1933 at which time they moved to Wheeler, Texas. Mrs. Ayers [sic] spent her life as a farmers wife and she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Pall bearers were Dub Good, Watson Burgess, John Wright, Ben Westmoreland, O. Nations and George Warren.
Survivors include the children: one son, Willis Ayers [sic] of Laton, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Correne White of Tuson Correne White of Tuscon [sic] Airz [sic], Mrs. Dorothy Webb of Burns Flat, Okla., and Mrs. Ruby Jones of Wheeler. Also one sister, Mrs. R.O. Hams of Cordell, Okla., and one brother, Marshall Donica of Texoma, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preced [sic] in death by her husband and two sons.
Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
