Mrs. Cleo [sic] A. Barnes of Magic City died Saturday in a Shamrock hospital after a brief illness with pneumonia.
Mrs. Barnes was born Sept. 26, 1893, a Lamasco, Texas, and died April 9, 1938, in Shamrock, at the age of 44 years, six months and 14 days. In 1911 she was united in marriage to Jeff A. Barnes at Wheeler, Texas.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas J., Claudine Carl and LeRoy Barnes, Magic City; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Jane Crow, Eunice, N.Mex., Mrs. Edith Stroud and Helen Elizabeth Barnes, Magic City; and five sisters, Mrs. Grace Emler, Magic City, Mrs. Mamie Huddleston, Mrs. Ruth Wilson and Miss Rosa Lee, Chula Vista, Calif., Mrs. Clara Wallon, Pampa; also a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Assembly of God church in Wheeler Sunday afternoon by Mary Franks, pastor of the Assembly of God church in Shamrock.
Clay-Youngblood Funeral Home was in charge of burial in the Wheeler cemetery.
