WHEELER - Maurice C. Burgess, 67, died Wednesday afternoon in Parkview Hospital here.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Campbell, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Burgess was born in Palo Pinto County and had lived in Wheeler County since 1909.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Lucille; two daughters, Mrs. Waunetta Whittenberg of Shawnee, Okla., and Mrs. Patsy Carlton of Shamrock; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Crone of Burlington, Iowa; two brothers, Watson of Wheeler and Bailey of Houston; and six grandchildren.

WHEELER - Lillian Lucille Burgess, 73, died Tuesday in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burgess was born in Palo Pinto County and moved to Wheeler County in 1920. She was a sales clerk at the Trading Post in Wheeler for the last 14 years. She was a Baptist. She married Maurice Burgess in 1929 in Sayre, Okla. He died in 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Waunetta Whittenberg of Shawnee, Okla., and Patsy Carlton of Shamrock; a sister, Ettie Mae Jolly of Shamrock; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
