CLYDE - Brandon Lee Bruton, 22, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at an Abilene hospital.

Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Billy Sellers, with burial in Belle Plain Cemetery.

Brandon was born Nov. 17, 1980, in Cisco, Texas, to Charles and Janette Smith Bruton.

He was a 1999 graduate of Clyde High School.

After graduating, he went to work for Tige' Boats as a boat builder. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and racing lawn mowers.

During the difficult times of his life, the love of his family and the outdoors never changed.

His love for the outdoors was shown when he recently won second place in the Texas Grasscar Hot-Rod Lawnmower Race in Cranfills Gap, Texas, on Sept. 13, 2003.

Brandon is survived by his father and stepmother, Charles and Glenda Bruton of Brownwood; his mother, Jan Bruton of Abilene; one brother, Christopher Bruton of Waco; one sister and brother-in-law, Penny and James Evatt of Kerrville; maternal grandfather, W.R. Bruton of Coleman; maternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Smith of Stamford; one niece, Tiffanie Evatt; one nephew, Wesley Evatt; several uncles and aunts including Walter and Beth Bruton of Comanche, Lawrence Bruton of Clyde, Howard and Sharon Bruton of Waco and Everette and Goldie Smith of Putman; and numerous cousins and many friends.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Clyde.
