Rosary services for Wilfred Kitten, 82, of Slaton will be 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Englunds Chapel with Father Marvin Kitten officiating.

Resurrection Mass Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 in Slaton's St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Marvin Kitten SJ officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Mr. Kitten died June 2, 2009. He was a life long resident of Lubbock County who was born January 14, 1927 to August A. and Helen Kitten

Wilfred attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He married Alice Jansa on November 16, 1948 in Rowena. Alice preceded him in death March 15, 2009. He was a life long cotton farmer.

Wilfred was an Army veteran of WWII.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Wilfred was a director of Citizens Bank, a member of the VFW, and an organizer of the St. Joseph Parochial School annual sausage festival.

His parents, and brothers, A. J. and Calvin Kitten, preceded him in death.

Wilfred is survived by his children, Linda Kitten of Slaton and Claude Kitten of Purcell, Okla.; and brothers, Clarence and wife Carol Sue Kitten of Slaton, and Father Marvin Kitten of Mobile, Ala.; grandson, Jarrod and wife Tracy Kitten of Slaton, along with three great-grandchildren; Seth, Abrianna and Jaxsen.

Rosary service for Alice Kitten, 82, of Slaton will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Englunds Chapel with Father Marvin Kitten officiating.

Resurrection mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in Slaton's St. Joseph Catholic Church with Farther Marvin Kitten officiating. Burial will be in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Mrs. Kitten passed from this life Sunday, March 15, 2009. She was born June 23, 1926 in Rowena.

Alice graduated from Rowena High School in 1944. She married Wilfred Kitten on November 16, 1948 in Rowena.

Alice was a person who was involved with her church and community. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and the Church quilt club. She volunteered her time and talents to the Slaton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 25 years to University Medical Center Auxiliary, and the Ranching Heritage Center.

Alice is survived by her husband, Wilfred and daughter, Linda Kitten both of Slaton; son, Claude Kitten of Purcell, OK; grandson and wife, Jarrod and Tracy Kitten of Midland and great grandchildren, Seth and Abrianna; brother, Paul Jansa
