*Obituary
Herbert Everette Cole, 91, of Amarillo, died Friday night.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 14 at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler, with Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa and Rev. David Cooper, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Wheeler.
He was born June 4, 1891 in Fannin County, Texas and moved to Wheeler County, Texas in 1912. He moved to Wheeler in 1925 and has lived in Amarillo for the last two years. He was a retired carpenter and rancher and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Larry Hampton, J.R. Harris, Gene Keelin, Mike Lee, Dr. Louie Mendiola, and Donald Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, and one son, Everett Cole, both of Amarillo; one brother, Pete Cole, of Pampa; six sisters, Mrs. Amalie Turcotte, Mrs. Lucille Burns, and Mrs. Velma Johnson, all from Pampa; Mrs. Gertrude Meadows and Mrs. Trula Galmore, both of Canadian; and Mrs. Annie Ruth Lee of Wheeler; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
