*Obituary
Former long-time Wheeler resident, Mrs. Susie Cowden, passed away in Amarillo Southwest Osteopathic Hospital Thursday, December 11 following a long illness.

Mrs. Cowden was residing in Amarillo at the time of her death.

She was born in Mississippi November 25, 1874 to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carriker. She was married to Jim Garnet Cowden.

Mrs. Cowden moved to Wheeler in 1911 where she lived until she moved to Amarillo five years ago.

Survivors include one son: Codie of Amarillo; one brother, Sam Carriker of Mountain Park, Okla.; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church of Wheeler, Monday December 15, 1969 with Rev. C.M. Abercrombie officiating.

Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.

Pallbeares [sic]: A.M. Galmor, Boyice Farris, Loyd Lee, Otis Reid, Coy Bradstreet, and Roy Bradstreet.
