Services for Mrs. Jessie Leota Crowder, 79, who died Friday at her home east of Wheeler, were held 2:30 p.m. Monday in Wheeler First United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Marvin Roark, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crowder was born at Cassville, Mo. She came to Wheeler County in 1925.
She was a graduate of North Texas State University at Denton and was a former teacher in the Wheeler, Briscoe, Mobeetie and Kelton school districts.
She was a Methodist and a member of the 54 Study Club.
Her husband, Clarence, died in 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jake Trout of Fayetteville, Ark.; a son, Kenneth of San Bernadino, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Bill Hampton, Fred Wood, Thomas Helton, Lonnie Kenney, Boyd Austin and Dorsie Hutchison.
Honorary pallbearers were: Clarence Robison, Tom Britt, L.A. McWhorter, Frank Walker, Loyd Davidson, Gordon Rope and Claude Barker.
