Forace B. Evans, 86, died Monday, June 30, 1997.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Wheeler with the Rev. Ronnie Chadwick of First Baptist Church of Davidson, Okla., and the Rev. Rob Lindley of First United Methodist Church of Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Evans was born in the Kelton community of Wheeler County. He had been a lifelong resident of Wheeler County. He married Newasa Lahoma Hays in 1935 at Wheeler. She died in 1970. He also was preceded in death by a son, Forace Dewayne Evans, in 1966.
Mr. Evans was an engineer for the Texas Highway Department from 1950 until retiring in 1974. He was a farmer and a member of Allison First Baptist Church.
He married Neta Standlee in 1975 at Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Jean Arron of Del Rio; a son, Donnie Evans of Groom; three stepdaughters, Betty Zybach of Sayre, Okla., Martha Helton of Wheeler and Inez Erwin of Amarillo; three brothers, Joe Evans of Bell Gardens, Calif., Clint Evans of Pampa and Rondal Evans of Canadian; three sisters, Fannie Mae Bradstreet of Wheeler, Ollie Brock of Amarillo and Estelle Montgomery of Pampa; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandson.
The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association.
