WHEELER - Melvin Ray Farrar, 62, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Weatherly of Wheeler officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Farrar was born in Indian Creek. He had been a resident of the Texas Panhandle and Wheeler most of his life. He married Faye Dick in 1959 at Lefors.

He dedicated about 20 years to the Texas school system before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Country Chapel in Wheeler.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Farrar and David Farrar, both of Pampa, and Danny Farrar of Round Mountain, Nev.; his mother, Thelma Farrar of Wheeler; a sister, Pat Stanton of Pampa; and eight grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society.

WHEELER - Myrtle Faye Farrar, 73, of Pampa died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Farrar was born Nov. 21, 1936. She was the daughter of David Lee and Kathryn Mauk Dick of Novata, Okla. She married Melvin Farrar on Dec. 26,1959 in Lefors. He died Dec. 30, 1996. Faye attended school in Lefors. She was employed 15 years by Wheeler Independent School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, David, and two sisters, June Waller and Pearl Darby.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Farrar and David Farrar of Pampa, and Danny and wife Lori Farrar of Cove, Alaska; three sisters, Barbara Stegall of Lake Butler, Fla., Betty Weatherly of Granbury and Dixie Regan of Van Buren, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today .

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, TX 79424.
