Funeral services for Victor Kuykendoll, 86, of Slaton will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Englunds Chapel with Jack Gordon officiating. Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.

Victor was born June 27, 1919 in Lampasas County and passed from this life Monday Feb. 20, 2006, in Slaton. He attended Littlefield schools in Lampasas County and graduated in 1936. After graduation, he went to work for the C.C.C. He moved to Pleasant Valley Community in 1942, where he farmed until 1971, when he moved to Slaton and went to work for Lubbock County until his retirement in 1983. Victor married Edith Burnes Aug. 3, 1940 in Lometa. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

His survivors include his wife, Edith of the home; two sons, Jerry of Bryan and Johnny of Luling; three daughters, Nelda Maynard and Dorothy Braddock, both of Lubbock, and Linda Cato of Amarillo; a sister; Ruth Rutledge of Burnet; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Edith Kuykendoll, 87, of Slaton, will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Englunds Chapel with Curtis Baker officiating. Internment will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Mattie Edith Burnes was born on April 12, 1923 to Wilson and Callie Burnes in Lometa, Texas, and passed from this life on April 17, 2010 in Amarillo, Texas.

Edith married Victor Kuykendoll on Aug. 3, 1940 in Lometa, Texas. The couple moved to the Pleasant Valley Community in 1942, where they farmed until 1971, when they moved to Slaton. Edith was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and three sisters; her husband, who died in 2006; a son, Jerry in 2007; and a grandchild, Randy McCormick in 1972.

Surviving her are children, Dorothy Braddock of Lubbock, Linda Cato of Amarillo, Johnny Kuykendoll of Buchanan Dam and Nelda Maynard of Daingerfield; a sister, Azlee Neinast of Andrews; a brother, R.V. Burnes of Kingsland; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
