William Henry Frye, 81, a native of Wheeler county died August 4 in Shamrock General hospital.

Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church in Wheeler August 7 with Eugene Henderson, minister of the Shamrock Church of Christ officiating.

Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery by Richerson Funeral home of Shamrock.

Mr. Fryes [sic] parents came to Wheeler county in 1884, bought land and established the Frye Ranch. Mr. Frye was one of the first native born children in the county.

He was cashier of a bank in Texola, Okla. during the early 1900s and later attended Chiropractor college. He practiced in Glenrose, Tex. and Sulpher [sic], Okla. before retiring to the Frye ranch. Mr. Frye was a mason.

Survivors include his wife Laura; a daughter, Mrs. Sunny Thomas of Hermosa Beach, Calif., a sister, Mrs. N.V. Puryear of Boulder City, Nev., brothers, Tobe and H.T. of Wheeler and two grandchildren.
