Funeral services for W.J. Greenhouse were conducted from the First Methodist Church here Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Darris L. Egger in charge, assisted by Dr. C.C. Merritt.
W.J. Greenhouse was born October 28, 1873 in Birmingham, England and departed this life November 18, 1949 at the age of 76 years and 21 days at his home west of Wheeler.
Mr. Greenhouse came to Canada with his parents at the age of 12, from there he came to Dallas County and later moved to Vernon where he was married to Beatrice Maud Rowe in 1903.
In 1917 the Greenhouses moved to Kelton where they resided three years, then moved to their farm 3 1/2 miles northwest of Wheeler, later moving to their present home 1 mile west of Wheeler.
Surviving relatives include; The wife, Mrs. W.J. Greenhouse; one son, Henry of Wheeler; two daughters, Dorothy Greenhouse of Wheeler and Mattie Woosley of Borger; five grandchildren, Darrell and Donna Greenhouse of Wheeler, and James, Patricia Ann and Richard Woosley of Borger; one sister, Mrs. B.F. Chastain of Denton; three brothers, H.H. Greenhouse of Pampa, A.E. Greenhouse of San Gabriel, Calif., and R.A. Greenhouse of Vernon; and a number of nieces and nephews.'
Pall bearers and flower girls were selected from relatives and friends.
Pall bearers were: T.A. Greenhouse, A.G. Greenhouse, Bill Greenhouse, Percy Rowe, Bill Rowe and Ben Chastain.
Honorary pall bearers were: D.E. Holt, Pete Mayfield, J.C. Bradstreet, Ralph Smotherman, J.C. Moore, Sr., Terrell Gunter, and Harry Wofford.
Flower girls were: Edna Wright, Jennie Pendleton, Gillrie Rogers, Bee Smotherman, Helen Russ and Faye May.
The body was laid to rest in the Wheeler Cemetery, Kirk-Mason Funeral Home being in charge of arrangements.
