WHEELER - Berniece Stevens Hall, 73, died Sunday, July 13, 1997.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Bill Morrison, minister of Wheeler Church of Christ, and the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hall was born in Shamrock and had lived in Wheeler County all of her life. She graduated from Shamrock High School and attended Stephen F. Austin and Sul Ross University.

She was named Wheeler's Woman of the Year in 1974. She was a member and past president of the Wednesday Study Club, Thursday Review Club, Wheeler Bicentennial Committee, Wheeler City Council and Wheeler PTA.

Mrs. Hall was the first woman president of the Wheeler Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Wheeler Library Board and the American Cancer Society.

She was an active member of the Wheeler Tax Appraisal Board, Wheeler Historical Society, Shamrock Ex-Student Association, Shamrock Tuesday Bridge Club, Wheeler Couples Bridge Club, Wheeler Ladies Bridge Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She was a Methodist church member, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, administrative board member, worship committee chairman, Chancel Choir director, choir member and treasurer of the United Methodist Women.

She married Harrison Hall in 1941 at Toyah.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dorothy Miller of Pampa and Linda Smith of Amarillo; a sister, Mickey Macina of Pakan; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Methodist Church of Wheeler or the American Cancer Society.
