SHAMROCK, Dec. 26 (Special) - Charlie Hampton, 58-year-old farmer died in a Wheeler hospital at 9 o'clock last night following a highway accident which occurred nine miles north of Shamrock at 4 o'clock Christmas afternoon.

The accident occurred when Hampton, returning to his home two miles north of Shamrock, stopped his car and started across the highway to get water for his automobile and was struck by a north-bound car driven by a Fort Worth resident. He was rushed to the Wheeler hospital where he died five hours later.

Hampton, for whom funeral arrangements are pending, is survived by the widow and 11 children. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Hampton, are pioneer Wheeler County residents who live in Wheeler.
