Ora Hardcastle, 86, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Truman Ledbetter, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clarendon, and Bill Morrison, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hardcastle was born in Collingsworth County. When she was a teenagers [sic] she moved from Plymouth to Shamrock, where she graduated from Shamrock High School. She later moved to Wheeler. She married Vernie Hardcastle in 1947 at Panhandle. He died in 1980. She was a bookkeeper for Wheeler County Produce for 19 years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Pall Bearers will be Steve Hampton, Larry Hampton, Donald Rives, Richard Gaines, Thomas Helton and Terry McCasland.

Survivors include a daughter, Edwina Johnson of Wheeler; three sons, Benny Brown of Dozier, and Gary Hardcastle and Danny Hardcastle, both of Wheeler; two stepsons, Harold Hardcastle of Vernon and Donald Hardcastle of Waco; a stepdaughter, Joe Ann Standlee of Grapevine; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Panhandle Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 E. 7th Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79106; or First Baptist Church.
