Funeral services for Johan Redecop, age 53 of Lamesa, Texas will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Colony Mennonite Church with Cornelius Fehr officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Redecop was born February 9, 1968 in Mexico to Katherina (Unger) and Jacob Redecop. He married Helena Martens in Mexico on September 22, 2021. He was a member of Old Colony Mennonite Church.
Johan Redecop passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
He is survived by his wife Helena Redecop of Lamesa, Texas; five sons, Jacob Redecop and wife Anna of Tarzan, Texas, Johan Redecop and wife Anna of Lamesa, Wilhelm Redecop and wife Lisa of Lamesa, Peter Redecop of Lamesa, and Cornelius Redecop of Lamesa; one daughter, Susie Redecop of Lamesa; eight brothers, Jake Redecop and wife Sara of Mexico, Cornelius Redecop and wife Susan of Welch, Texas, Gerhardt Redecop and wife Sara of Mexico, Peter Redecop and wife Katherina of Canada, Henrich Redecop and wife Susana of Canada, Herman Redecop and wife Anna of Klondike, Texas, and Wilhelm Redecop and wife Katherina of Canada; three sisters, Aganetha Hildebrandt and husband Gerhart of Canada, Anna Ennis and husband Henry of Tarzan, Texas, and Katharina Hiebert and husband Peter of Mexico; and three grandchildren.
