WHEELER - Vera Moore Barnes, 90, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Baker, Mrs. Barnes' son-in-law of Cache, Okla., and the Rev. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barnes was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Rockwall County to O.F. "Pappy" and Ocie Aileen Holt. She moved to Wheeler in 1931 with her parents. She married C.L. "Fat" Moore in 1932. C.L. passed away in 1983. She then married Henry Barnes in 1985.

She had lived in Wheeler for 75 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.L.; and two brothers, Lonnie and Wayman Holt.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Barnes; three sons, Leon Moore and Wife Kaye of Farmington, N.M., Darrell Moore and wife Donna of Amarillo and Charles Moore and wife "Butch" of Wheeler; two daughters, Shirley Jolly and husband Earl of Wheeler and Connie Baker and husband Stanley of Cache; two brothers, Coyse Holt and wife Sandra of Farmington and Kenneth Holt of Fort Worth; two sisters, Ruth Kenney and husband Lonnie of Wheeler and Glenda Burnett and husband Gary of Corsicana; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Wheeler or a favorite charity.
