WHEELER - O.L. "Monk" Bowerman, 91, died Thursday, June 23, 2005.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Johnson, minister of Wheeler Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Bowerman was born July 28, 1913, to David Edward Bowerman and Pearl Ruth Bowerman in Nocona in Montague County. Mr. Bowerman, his mother and two brothers moved to Wheeler in 1922. He married Norma Aline Harris in 1933. He worked as a mechanic for Ware Chevrolet for 20 years. Mr. Bowerman was a member of Wheeler Masonic Lodge No. 1099 A.F. & A.M. and had received the 50-year pin. He had been a member of Wheeler Church of Christ since 1933.

He was preceded in death by a son, Denny Bowerman in 1994.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale Bowerman of Austin and David Bowerman of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Betty Wainright of Pampa; and 10 grandchildren.

WHEELER - Norma Harris Bowerman, 96, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Johnston, pastor of Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Norma was born April 26, 1912, in Ardmore, Okla., to J.D. and Minnie Mussgrave Harris. She moved to Wheeler in 1927, and married O.L. "Monk" Bowerman on Dec. 16, 1933. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. "Monk" Bowerman, on June 23, 2005; and a son, Denny Bowerman, on June 10, 1994.
