Thomas Morgan Bowman, prominent Wheeler businessman, died at Parkview Hospital Monday, December 15, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Bowman was born August 26, 1909 at Carey, Texas to James Edward and Anna Elizabeth Rich Bowman. He was married to Lillie Smith, October 1, 1927 in Wood County, Texas.
Mr. Bowman moved to Wheeler County 32 years ago. He lived for a few years at Allison and moved to Wheeler in 1944. He had been in the lumber business for may years and was a partner in Wheeler Lumber Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are: his wife, Lillie, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Lee Edwards of Wheeler; one son, John Dan Bowman of Perryton; one sister, Mrs. Riley Troth of Canyon and five grandsons.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Wheeler, Tuesday, December 16, with Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa officiating and Rev. McCormick assisting.
Interment was in Wheeler Cemetery under direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Lee of Allison, Ben Parks of Memphis, T.L. Gunter, ?, C.O. Martin of Wheeler, and R. St. John of Mobeetie. Honorary pall bearers were: D.O. Beene, Robert Holt, Bob Taylor, Virgil Helton, R.F. Frye, Herbert Finsterwald, Frank Walker, C.B. Kirk, and Harry Wofford.
