*Obituary
WHEELER - Bessie Lee Belle Callaway, 74, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grace Fellowship Church with the Rev. Erron Mercer, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Callaway was born to Mr. and Mrs. V.D. Riley in Fort Sumner, N.M., on Jan. 17, 1930. She had lived in Wheeler since 1980. Mrs. Callaway worked as a health care provider for many years. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a special friend, Jim Martin of Wheeler.
Survivors include two sons, William Scales and wife, Janice, of Wheeler and Vance Callaway of Amarillo; three daughters, Jean Christian and husband, Ron, of Amarillo, and Rebecca Blackburn and husband, Bob, and Bessie "Junior" Scales, all of Wheeler; a brother, F.C. Riley and wife, Wanda, of Fort Sumner; a sister, Claryn Cunningham and husband, Bruce, of Marlow, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
