PAMPA - James W. "Bill" Chapman, 87, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Arvia Willingham and Rodney Tedford, minister of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery.

Mr. Chapman was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Melrose, N.M. He married Maryedith "Wanda" Haworth on Oct. 28, 1939, in Somerton, Ariz. He had been a resident of Wheeler and Port Aransas for many years, moving to Pampa on July 13, 2003. He was a member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed fishing. He loved to spend time with his family, and was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joyce Ann, in 1940; two brothers, Teddy Lee Chapman and Albert Chapman; and a sister, Anna Mae Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Chapman; a son, Johnny Chapman and wife Betty of Pampa; two daughters, Shirley Johnson and husband Wallace of Longview and JoAnn Helton and husband Jim of Pampa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter St., Suite 404, Amarillo, TX 79106 or a favorite charity.

Maryedith "Wanda" Chapman, 88, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Ware Living Center, where she had lived for the past eight months.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dick Marcear and Haun Kite, both officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler.

Mrs. Chapman was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Beggs, Okla., to Clark and Lillie Haworth. She was a member of The Church of Christ at the Colonies. She loved to sew, cook and to play card games. Mrs. Chapman loved people and she was loved by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Chapman; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Johnson and husband Wallace of Longview and JoAnn Helton and husband Jim of Amarillo; a son, Johnny Chapman and wife Betty of Pampa; seven grandchildren, Jo Lynette Adams, Tedd Johnson and wife Shelli, Todd Helton, Tammy Hall and husband Kevin, Jason Helton and wife Star, Melissa Chapman-Smith and husband Brady, Justin Chapman; and nine great-grandchildren, Brandy Adams, Noah Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Rachel Conner and husband Chad, Kaylee Hall, Tyler Hall, Kenna Hall, Brenna Helton and Gracie Helton.

The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Ware Living Center for the loving care she was given.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or to a favorite charity.
