Funeral Services Held For Cloris B. Childress, 62
Cloris B. Childress, 84, died Saturday, May 7, 1994. Services were at 2:30 Tuesday in the Central Baptist Church with Mark Mise of Amarillo and the Rev. Rick Timmons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors.
Mr. Childress was a veteran, serving in the Army during World War II. He moved to Canadian in 1965 from Pampa and was employed by the city of Canadian Street Department for 20 years. He was active in the Pampa Senior Citizens Community.
Pallbearers were R.L. Anderson, Berry Bayne, Wilson Crawford, John Holt, Leonard Price, Bill Sirmons and Pete Yarbrough.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Murry of Lefors and Wes Childress of Canadian; four daughters, Ann VanTassell of Beloit, Wisc., Claudia Taylor of Duncan, Okla., Carolyn Ehmann of Miami and Susan Welch of Nevada, Texas; a sister, Sammie Caswell of Sayre, Okla.; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
