Tom H. Christner, 50, died Wednesday, August 13, 1986.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ernie McGaughey, of Tulia, former pastor, and the Rev. Mike Struve, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Christner was born in Austin and moved to Shamrock with his family in 1940. He attended Shamrock schools and was graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a 1958 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was married to Sandra Stiles in 1956 in Wheeler. They moved to Wheeler in 1973. He was an investor and a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of board of directors of First National Bank in Wheeler, president of Wheeler County Translator System and was a former member of the Wheeler School Board. He was a member and on the board of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom of Wheeler and Vaughan of College Station; two daughters, Cynthia Christner Watson of Arlington and Elise Christner of Sequin; his mother, Rubie Christner of Shamrock; and two brothers, John Hal of Shamrock and MacGregor of Wheeler.

Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetis [sic] Foundation, 60 Madison Ave., New York, N.Y. 10010-1550 or your favorite charity.
