Bess Cole, 98, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Dalhart with the Rev. Rusty Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Bess Cole was born Oct. 18, 1908, in Granbury to J.C. and Addie Moore. She had lived in Wheeler until the age of 8. After she married Bill Cole, they moved to Lefors and had one son, Rondall Cole. She later worked in Pampa as a clerk for J.C. Penney. Later she moved to Dalhart before moving to Amarillo three years ago. She was an incredible seamstress and loved to do flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Telenia Anthony and husband Phillip of Washougal, Wash.; a great-grandson, Carlos; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
