Services to be Held for Zaney Douglas

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 6 at 2:00 P.M. for Zaney Bradford Douglas in the Methodist Church in Wheeler, Texas with Rev. Carlton Thomson officiating.

Zaney Bradford Douglas was born in Bosier [sic] Parish near Baton Rouge, Louisiana Dec. 16, 1872 and passed away at her home in Wheeler, Texas Feb. 4, 1958 at 5:45 A.M. at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 18 days. Coming from Oklahoma she has lived in the Wheeler community for the past 38 years. Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include the children, J.A. Douglas, R.H. Douglas, Shamrock, Texas; R.D. Douglas, Alamagordo [sic], New Mexico; Mrs. Mittie Hollinsworth [sic], San Jose, California; A.L. Douglas, Boise, Idaho; and Mrs. Clearch [sic] Austin, Wheeler. Also 15 grand children, 17 great grandchildren, 1 brother, J.R. Bradford of Hayward, California. Her husband, 4 sons, 4 brothers and 1 sister preceded her in death.

Pallbearers haven't been selected. Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery beside her husband who passed away in 1947. Kirk Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
