Percy L. Farmer, 101, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, in Wheeler.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler with Dr. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Farmer was born on Nov. 3, 1900, in Forestburg to Edward and Lilly Walker Farmer. He graduated from high school in Montague County. He married Bernice Bailey in Pella on Sept. 14, 1919. They moved to Wheeler County in 1931, from Hemphill County to Wheeler in 1933. He was a mechanic all his life and a member of the First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge of Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Lowell in 1992, eight brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one son, P.D. Farmer of Borger; one daughter, Edna Davis of Plainview; one brother, Clifford Farmer of Fritch; two sisters, Lois Johnson of Borger and Oneta Murray of Orange; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Masonic Children's Home, Ft. Worth, Texas.
