Alton Price Farrar, 85, of Plainview, died Sunday.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Cemetery, the Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa officiated. Burial was by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Farrar was born in Comanche. He married Iru Thelma Ward in 1926 in Comanche. he [sic] moved to Plainview from Wheeler three months ago. He previously lived in Monahans. He was a retired farmer, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monahans.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ward of Redding, Calif., and Melvin of Wheeler; two daughters, Patsy Stanton of Pampa and Joyce Baker of Plainview; a sister, Sybil Cosby of Cisco; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Thelma Iru Farrar, 92, died Sunday, April 25, 1999.

Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m Wednesday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Pampa officiating. Arrangements were by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Farrar was born in Sidney. She had been a homemaker most of her life. She lived in Monahans from 1952 until 1984, when she moved to Plainview. Later in 1984, she moved to Wheeler. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church at Monahans.

She married Alton Price Farrar in 1926 at Comanche. He died in 1985.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Farrar and Ward Farrar, a daughter, Joyce Baker and a stepdaughter, Nita Spence.

Survivors included a daughter, Patsy Stanton of Pampa; a sister, Ona Milhorn of Amarillo; a brother, Reuben Ward of Ft. Worth; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
