A combination of pneumonia and foreign matter in his lungs has been given as the cause of death of Garland M. Fooshee Jr., 37, of 7812 Triangle, who died Sunday night after collapsing in the city jail.

Justice of the Peace Cliff Roberts, acting as coroner, said the autopsy showed Fooshee had breathed in fluids from his stomach while lying on his back, and that he was also suffering from confluent bronchial pneumonia.

Funeral services for Fooshee will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Schooler-Gordon Chapel.

Officiating will be the Rev. J. Dewey Horton, pastor emeritus of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, and the Rev. A.E. Cox, minister of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

Graveside rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Wheeler Cemetery with burial there by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters and a sister.
