Funeral services for Albert Ford were conducted from the First Methodist Church here last Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with Rev. Darris Egger, pastor, in charge. Assisting Rev. Egger were Rev. M.B. Smith, Baptist pastor, and Minister Ernest Grizzard, pastor of the local Church of Christ.
Albert Ford, who had been a resident of Wheeler for the past two years died at his home last Saturday morning at 6:45 o'clock at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 17 days. He was born in Bastrop County, Texas on March 15, 1887.
Mr. Ford had been afflicted with paralysis for the past 24 years.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Bertha Ford; 3 sons, Louie W. of Oklahoma City, Lewis Burrel of Healdton, Oklahoma, and Eskel Loyd of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Ione Ester Miller of Wheeler; 9 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Ward of Lubbock and Mrs. F.P. Murphy of Pomona, Calif.; 3 brothers, Frank of Temple, Charlie of Lodi, Calif., and Elwood of Henrietta; and one half-brother, Henry Christopher of Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Ford was converted 42 years ago but never became a member of any church.
Pall bearers were: J. Hastings, Earl Miller, Hank Miller, Zack Miller, Albert Anderson and Raymond Burks.
Flower attendants were: Mrs. J. Hastings, Opal Smith, Lila Anderson, Aleen Anderson, Iceal Read and Loveta Burks.
Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery with Kirk-Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
