WHEELER - Preston L. Glazner, 91, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, in McLean.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Mike Gandy officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Preston L. Glazner went to meet our Lord on July 9, 2011. He was born in Quail on Dec. 31, 1919, to Sam and Louise Glazner. He was raised in Samnorwood. He served our country in the Army Air Corp. from August 1941 through September 1945. He was awarded theEAME Campaign Medal with 10 Bronze Stars, the American Defense Medal and The Good Conduct Medal. He married Elsie Marie Coates in Collingsworth on April 6, 1946. They moved to Wheeler County in 1952. He farmed and raised Angus cattle in addition to working for AMPI for more than 30 years. He retired from AMPI in 1981. He was a member of the American Legion, Woodman of the World and VFW Wheeler.

Preston was preceded in death by his parents.

Preston is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elsie Coates Glazner; three sons, Preston Doyle Glazner and wife Carol of Lubbock, Jerry Glazner of Lancaster and Noel Franklin Glazner of Eula; a daughter, Janice Elaine Quandt and husband Steve of Wheeler; seven grandchildren, Timm Rodgers of Miami, Katherine Manuel of Eula, Clint and Amy Glazner of Dumas, Kelly and Ronnie Maxwell of Wheeler, Steven and Alice Glazner of Lubbock, Shirlee and William Blasingame of Guymon, Okla., and Chris and Andrea Glazner of Round Rock; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284-1125.

Elsie Marie Glazner
February 26, 1927 - July 3, 2021

Elsie Marie Glazner, 94, of Wheeler died Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2021 in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Chip Watson, officiating.

Viewing will be held Thursday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.

Elsie was born February 26, 1927 in Kingston, Missouri to Alton Guy and Ruth Baker Coates. She married Preston Glazner on April 6, 1946 in Collingsworth County, Texas. She had been a resident of Wheeler since 1958 and was a seamstress prior to her retirement. She loved the outdoors and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 9, 2011.

Survivors include her sons, Preston Glazner of Lubbock, Jerry Glazner of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Noel Glazner of Graham; her daughter, Elaine Quandt of Wheeler; her sisters, Eula Kulhman of Bridgecreek, Oklahoma, Ethel Ferris of Shamrock, and Sue Woodruff of Kansas, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Timm Rodgers of Wheeler, Katherine Robertson of Graham, Kelly Westbrook of Wheeler, Steven Glazner of Lubbock, Chris Glazner of Lago Vista, Texas, Clint Glazner of Dumas, and Shirlee Blasingame of Guymon, Oklahoma; 27 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
