WHEELER - Tony Griffin, 82, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Country Chapel Church with the Rev. Jerry Jewell, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Griffin was born on July 2, 1920, in Wheeler to Albert Beauregard and Hettie Fair Griffin. He attended Wheeler schools and lived in Wheeler most of his life. He was a salesman for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving during WWII. He was a Baptist and member of the VFW and Gideons International. He was preceded in death by a son, Buford Lynn Griffin in 1967, and a grandson, Tony Conner in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Nita Mize of Wheeler; a brother, Joe B. Griffin of Pampa; a sister, Sarah Loiselle of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
