Cecil Hamilton was called "Chock" by his family. His son, Floyd, said his Dad lived by the Chocktaw Indians in Oklahoma and that may be where he got the nickname.

He married Mildred Miller on Jan. 18, 1933 in Hollis, Harmon County, Texas. They were married by W.P. Crouch, Pastor, of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. F.M. Keys and C.E. Havnser witnessed the marriage.

Chock enlisted in the Army on March 8, 1944. He was a Private in Battery B, 744th Field Artillery Battalion in World War II. He served in Germany under General Patton.

He passed away in 1952, due to a motor cycle accident on Highway 183 in Texas.
