*Obituary
Jerry Don McClendon went to be with his Savior on the morning of Monday, May 1, 2017. Jerry was born April 13, 1939 in Cottle County to May and Clark McClendon. He attended school in Paducah, graduating from Paducah High School in 1957. Jerry married his high school sweetheart Carol Carrick on June 22, 1958. He started his farming career in 1961 and was a farmer for 56 years. Jerry thoroughly loved farming and the many friendships that developed from it over the years.

The pride and joy of his life were his three children; Lezlea Carol, Jeffery Don, and Gregory Neal. This pride and joy was only multiplied with his seven grandchildren: Ainsley (Andy) Wieland Davis, Collin, Brycen, and Alec McClendon, Mason and Megan McClendon, and Maddie Wieland.

Jerry joyfully served his church as an elder, Sunday School teacher and praise and worship leader at First Christian Church, Paducah, Texas. He also served as a member of the Paducah volunteer fire department, the Paducah City Council, PISD school board, long time President and long time member of Full Gospel Business Men’s International.

Anyone who came into contact with Jerry quickly knew that he loved the Lord and loved people.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Lezlea. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol, his sons and daughter-in-laws, Jeff and Toni McClendon of Pampa, and Greg and Susan McClendon of Midland and all of his grandchildren. Jerry is survived by a sister, Joy Ann Nelson of Wichita Falls, and a brother Garland McClendon of Plano.
