Funeral services for Leo Hooker, 51, who was burned to death Friday, Oct. 4, in Tulare, Calif., were held Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the Wheeler Church of Christ with Minister E.M. Borden, Jr., officiating.

Mr. Hooker was born in Duke, Okla., June 6, 1906, coming to Wheeler with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hooker, when a small child. He was educated in Wheeler schools and worked here and in surrounding towns as an auto mechanic until going to California to live several years ago.

Survivors include his parents; two children, David, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Shelia, of Cactus, Texas; three brothers, Temple of Tuscon {sic], Ariz., and J.W. Jr., and Odous both of Los Angeles, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Buchanan, Pauls Valley, Okla.; Mrs. David Bolong, Wapato, Wash., and Mrs. Eva Robertson, Amarillo. One brother, was a casualty of World War II.

Pallbearers were E. M. Moore, Buster Walser, Fred Farmer, Virgil Jamison, L. Loyd Lee and Roe Green.

Interment was made in Wheeler Cemetery with arrangements by Kirk Funeral Home.
