WHEELER - Birdie Paralee Hudson, 91, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hudson was born to Finas and Mary Francis Johnson Gibson on March 13, 1911, in Hood County. She married Malcolm Hudson in 1973 at Carthage. She moved to Wheeler in 1989 from Longview.

She was in sales for J.C. Penny Co. in Memphis and Childress. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, the Elks Lodge in Longview and was a volunteer at Wheeler Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; a son, Louis Ray Conn; seven brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Kay Hudson of West Union, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Conn of Sherman; three granddaughters, Tracy Lynne, Denise Racine and Kim; a brother, Gene Gibson of Dallas; three sisters, Mary Baten of Pampa, Bertha Holder of Amarillo and Myrtle Verden of Wheeler; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church building fund in Wheeler.
