WHEELER - Iris Alvern Hutchison, 88, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Eastland.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Alvern was born March 9, 1921, in Wheeler to Chester and Violettie Hampton. Alvern lived all of her life in Wheeler. She graduated from Wheeler High in 1939. She married Dossie Hutchison on Aug. 26, 1939, in Shamrock.
Alvern was a homemaker, and a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dossie, in 1995 and her parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Annette Jones and husband Jerry of Breckenridge; a son, Johnny Hutchison and wife Sheryl of Eagle, Wis.; grandchildren, Lisa Story and husband Mike, Karen Jones, Molly Hutchison, Jeramey Hutchison, Jaime Hutchison and Tom Canright; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be to First Methodist Church, P.O. Box 89, Wheeler, TX 79096.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
