Funeral services were held Friday, May 10th at 4:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wheeler for Judson Denny (J.D.) Johnson.

Rev. Keith McCormick, pastor, officiated.

Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery, under the direction of Wright-Denson Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were Gene Hubbard, Ariza Corcoran, Gene Hall, Albert Chapman, Tince Williams, Robert Shugart, Pete Burton, Clyde Meek and honorary pall bearers were Robert Holt, Lloyd Jones, Bill Chapman, Shelby Pettit, Virgil Jamison and Arron Sturgeon.

Judson Denny Johnson passed away at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Wednesday, May 8, 1968 at the age of 67. He had been ill for three months.

Mr. Johnson was born to David Elijah and Josephine Myers Johnson, September 8, 1900 at Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was united in marriage to Lillian Brown, Dec. 20, 1928 at Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Mr. Johnson moved to the Texas Panhandle from Mt. Pleasant as a boy with his parents. He had lived in Wheeler County for the past 59 years and had lived in Wheeler for the past 15 years.

He was a retired rancher.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Gracie Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lillian of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn LaJune Tipton of Borger and Mrs. Helen May of Mobeetie; one son, J.T. Johnson of Wheeler; eight grandchildren; one brother, G.F. Johnson of Arnett, Oklahoma and two sisters: Mrs. Jewell Kite of Wheeler and Mrs. Ada Lee Daughtery of Pampa.

He was preceded in death by one son, David and one grandson, J.C. Tipton, Jr., and five brothers and one sister.
