Wheeler Times - July 19, 1934

Miss Elsie Mae Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.I. Johnston, who live four miles northeast of Wheeler, died Friday following a brief illness. She was born August 7, 1914, at Chillicothe and died July 13, 1934, at Wheeler, at the age of 19 years, 11 months and six days. She is survived by her parents and three brothers, Ollen, Paul and Lawrence Johnston and three sisters, Mrs. Zelma Reid, Ruth and Mary Bell Johnston, all of Wheeler and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church in Wheeler by Rev. A.C. Wood, assisted by Rev. Alamo Starkey, with interment at the Wheeler cemetery.

The pall bearers were James Rollin, George Riley, Clyde Shobbs, Curtis Weeks, D.B. Weeks and Bernice Derryberry.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Wheeler Funeral Home, D.A. Hunt, manager.
