Kenneth Edward Moss, 83, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009.

He was born to James Edward and Lena Moss on Aug. 7, 1926. He graduated from Paducah High School and served in the United States Navy Armed Guard during World War II. He served aboard the SS Claremont Victory and the USS Refuge in the Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1946. Kenneth married Helen Marie Canon on Aug. 17, 1946. He farmed in Cottle County until working for Texas Farmers Union as organizational director.

Kenneth served as a deacon in the Baptist Church. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Lubbock. Kenneth was passionate about politics and was a "yellow dog" democrat. He loved fishing and sharing his love with his grandchildren.

Kenneth was the youngest of 10 children and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Moss; children, Carl Moss and wife Mary Kay, Gary Moss and wife Judith, Barry Moss and wife Diane and Melinda Kerr and husband Tim; sister, Atha Prater; nine grandchildren, Erin and Arnold Gamez, Thomas Moss, Samantha Moss, Jerrod and Valerie Kerr, Cody Moss, Kevin Kerr and Briane Moss; a great-grandchild, Taylen Moss; several nieces and nephews; and his buddy, Scooter.
